MORE THAN AN EVENT

Each year, the CCRSM Leadership Summit highlights the collective power of our network to ignite new possibilities in education and workforce for Texas students. The Texas Education Agency and Educate Texas are excited to provide a place and space for our network members to reunite, share success stories and energize one another for the upcoming school year.

This year’s Leadership Summit is a hybrid format, with in-person sessions in San Antonio and virtual sessions available to all registrants. We are focusing on one CCRSM model each day: ECHS on June 13th, P-TECH on June 14th and T-STEM on June 15th.

Wish Night

For the past 25 years, prominent business leaders, notable philanthropists, established medical professionals, and a multitude of distinguished supporters have come from far and wide to Wish Night, the signature black tie gala benefiting Make-A-Wish North Texas, in celebration and honor of the magic created each time a child’s wish is granted. It is because of your generosity that we have been able to grant more than 11,000 wishes for North Texas children.

This premier event features a sit-down, gourmet dinner, hand-crafted cocktails, live music and dancing, inspiring and uplifting wish stories, and the chance to bid on unique items and experiences in the famed live and silent auctions. Since inception, Wish Night alone has helped to grant more than 2,400 wishes for children battling critical illness. Now, more than ever, wishes are essential. Join us as we celebrate.

EarthX

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on environmental education and awareness, EARTHx has created the world’s largest annual forum for sharing the latest initiatives, discoveries, research, innovations, policies, and corporate practices that are reshaping our world.

This three-day free event is held in April to celebrate progress, hope, and innovation and is the largest event in the world of its kind. EARTHx brings together environmental organizations, businesses, academic institutions, government agencies, speakers, interactive programming, and subject matter experts along with live music and sustainable beer and food pavilions. EARTHx creates a fun and engaging atmosphere for thought and experiential learning while encouraging attendees to be the change they wish to see in the world.

What started in 2011 as an outdoor event spanning five blocks of Flora Street in Dallas’ Arts District grew to occupy approximately one million square feet of indoor and outdoor event space in Dallas’ historic Fair Park. In 2017, EARTHx hosted more than 100,000 attendees, over 900 exhibitors and 260 speakers, becoming the largest annual environmental exhibition and programming initiative in the world.

While many of our efforts are centered on our EARTHxevent in April, EARTHx has also launched numerous year-round events to generate additional awareness and inspire people to get involved and help make a difference.  These events include networking receptions with speaker panels, forums, film series, volunteer opportunities and environmental projects.

EARTHx continues to present attendees and participants with breakthrough solutions and fascinating innovations that will empower them to make a difference in their communities and the world – 365 days a year.

Her tenure includes a long list of hit series, including comedies The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, as well as dramas such as The Good Wife and the CSI and NCIS franchises (which she developed as head of the drama department before taking over the entertainment division).  Tassler has also been included in an annual list of The Most Powerful and Influential Latinos in Entertainment by The Imagen Foundation in 2011 and again in 2013.

Hear from our 2017 Award Recipients on how we can continue to empower and advocate for women and girls.

Drop Dead Gorgeous
An annual beauty pageant in small-town Minnesota turns ridiculously competitive and ultimately chaotic in this biting comedy. Amber Atkins (Kirsten Dunst), the daughter of hard-drinking mom Annette (Ellen Barkin), and Becky Leeman (Denise Richards), who is motivated by her former beauty-queen mother, Gladys (Kirstie Alley), are among the top contenders in the event. As Amber, Becky, and other local girls prepare for the big day, bizarre incidents occur, leading up to an ending with a bang.
